Indian ethnic wear and color palate has been exposed to wearing green along with pink , yellow, lime, red , mustard and orange. Traditional saris have shades of green including olives, lime,viridian, moss, tree top, parrot green and even lime. Ethnic wear do require few color tone combinations and styling with green , to avoid looking loud and over the top. Here is quick tips on wearing the color of the year in ethnic way!
1) Style it with safer white or black or Grey
Very simple and very effective way to wear the color. Add glamour with brighter neck piece , drop earrings or statement dupatta. Grey kurta can be teamed with shades of green specially bottle green,moss. Add few elements of black or brown as accessories to add drama. These are stylish and safer options for office or formal settings.
2) Wear it with purple!
This color combination works well for outfits for festive or traditional settings. Just ensure that green is not bright one but bit subtle to go with brighter and dramatic shade of purple. Payal Khandwala showed this combo in great way.
3) Style it with pink / red / blue / lemon !
These color combination spell vibrancy to core. Choose shade of green with care else overall look may seem tacky. Go for moss, lime, turquoise green or viridian green. 4) Mix with metallic - Gold /Silver/ Copper anything !
Very traditional yet trendy combination. Manish Malhotra showed this very well in this creation (see photo below). Team metallic cigarette pants in brocade with monochrome green/ black slit Kurta. Style it with chunky necklace. Alternatively wear all green floor length Anarkali with metallic work.
Green with blue is cool ! Printed or just solid color separates...go greenery blue this spring summer. Choose some elements of white , black, grey or lemon to balance the overall look.
To make it effortless, you can take a lime green printed dupatta or stole on solid blue kurta.
